For a dancer, wellness and exercise is an important part of daily routine, in order to enhance movements, rhythm, posture, stamina, and pose. As such, it is important to focus on the spine and abdomen. But even if you are not a dancer, this class includes a set of spin & abdomen focused exercises that will help to effectively stretch and strengthen the spine, align the vertebrae from the atlas to the coccyx, including the sacrum and lower back, while improving overall flexibility. The exercises will also help strengthen the entire body, muscles, joints and tendons, help ‘massage’ internal organs and improve energy flow, critical to improving stamina. The exercises are derived from several different traditions including:
- Yoga 18 Tamil Siddhas
- Taoist Qigong
- Cossak Savor
- Tibetian yoga tantra, and
These time tested exercises are very effective and beneficial for every person and any age and can be part of an everyday physical training regimen.
Louchia is Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher, and additionally, she has trained in therapeutic yoga and Ayurveda from Greens Ayurveda in Kerala, India.
Skill Level: Available for all levels, but some prior dance experience will be helpful
